Prior to joining Bayview, Mr. Miller worked in securitized products at Barclays Capital for four years, where he managed traders responsible for residential whole loan trading, commercial mortgage-backed securities trading, and asset-backed securities trading. The traders covered a wide range of products, including non-performing residential whole loans, newly originated commercial loans, liquid AAA credit cards, and commercial real estate collateralized debt obligations (CDOs). Prior to Barclays, Mr. Miller worked in the mortgage department at Lehman Brothers for 11 years. Mr. Miller graduated from Dartmouth College as a triple major in Economics, Mathematics, and Biophysical Chemistry.

Brett S. Messing is a Partner and the President and Chief Operating Officer of SkyBridge. He began his career at Goldman Sachs where he held various positions including Vice President and Co-Head of the Restricted Stock Group. Thereafter, he was a partner at Oscar Capital Management, which was acquired by Neuberger Berman, LLC. Following the successful integration of the business, Mr. Messing founded GPS Partners, a $2.5 billion hedge fund at its peak, which focused primarily in the energy infrastructure sector. Mr. Messing was the firm’s Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer. Thereafter, Mr. Messing worked for Los Angeles Mayor Antonio R. Villariagosa as Co-Chief Operating Officer responsible for economic and business policy. Mr. Messing served as a Senior Advisor to Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg at C40 Cities, a joint venture with the Clinton Climate Initiative. Mr. Messing is the Terence M. Considine Visiting Senior Research Fellow in Law, Economics, and Business at Harvard Law School. He is the co-author of The Forewarned Investor and contributed to Learning from the Global Financial Crisis - Creatively, Reliably and Sustainably, a compendium published by Stanford Business School. Mr. Messing received his A.B. from Brown University, magna cum laude, and his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.

Managing Director, Founder & Global Head of Event Driven, is responsible for managing BlackRock's event driven investing efforts within Active Equities (AE).

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2014, Mr. McKenna was a Managing Director at Harvard Management Company (HMC) and co-founder of HMC's event driven fund. From 2004 to 2009, Mr. McKenna was Portfolio Manager of the event driven strategy at Caxton Associates, LLC. Previous to Caxton, Mr. McKenna spent five years at Salomon Smith Barney as a Vice President in mergers and acquisitions where he advised on over $100 billion in corporate change. Before graduate school, Mr. McKenna served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy's Nuclear Submarine Force, where he conducted strategic deterrent patrols onboard the USS Ohio and was a certified nuclear engineer by the Department of Naval Reactors.

Mr. McKenna earned an MBA, with distinction, from New York University and a B.E. in electrical engineering from New York Maritime College.

Ms. McGarrity returned to Colorado PERA in March 2017, after working at William Blair as a Global Equity Product Specialist. Ms. McGarrity originally joined Colorado PERA in 2010, after the merger of the Denver Public Schools Retirement System, serving first as Senior Investment Officer, then as Deputy Chief Investment Officer. Prior to joining Colorado PERA, Ms. McGarrity held previous investment positions at Buck Consultants, Prima Capital Holding, William M. Mercer Investment Consulting, and Caxton Corporation. She is a graduate of University of Wyoming with a BS in Finance, and earned her MBA at Rider University. Ms. McGarrity has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Colorado. She is also a member of the PCAOB Investment Advisory Group, and the SEC’s Fixed Income Market Structure Advisory Committee.

Michael A. McFaul served as Ambassador of the United States of America to the Russian Federation from January, 2012, to February, 2014. Prior to becoming Ambassador, he served for three years as the special assistant to the President and senior director for Russia and Eurasian Affairs at the National Security Council.

McFaul is a professor of political science and a Hoover fellow at Stanford University. He is also director and senior fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies (FSI).

Most recently, he wrote From Cold War to Hot Peace: An American Ambassador in Putin’s Russia (2018), a New York Times best-selling inside account of U.S.-Russia relations from 1989 to the present.

McFaul was born and raised in Montana. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Slavic Languages and his Master of Arts degree in Soviet and East European Studies from Stanford University in 1986. He was awarded a Rhodes scholarship to Oxford where he completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree in International Relations in 1991.

The fund operates out of a private co-working space in downtown Newark where it also runs a 3-month pre-seed accelerator called NVP Labs. in addition to capital, it aims to provide its portfolio companies with strategic support, through its focus on sales strategy & execution and the support of over 500+ corporate mentors from the LP network. A core mission of the fund is to establish Newark as an emerging tech hub and has shown early success in recruiting companies to grow a presence in the city.

As Principal, Joanne leads the fund’s direct investment strategy focusing on the sourcing and diligence of potential deals and on-going portfolio management. As a female investor and woman of color, Joanne is an active supporter of diversity in tech and venture capital.

David Lyon

David Lyon is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and Co-Head of the Private Credit business for NB Private Equity. He is a member of the Private Debt and Credit Opportunities Investment Committees. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in 2014, he was the Director of Research at Ellis Lake Capital, a $500 million event-driven credit hedge fund based in New York. Before Ellis Lake, Mr. Lyon was one of three professionals responsible for the day to day management of the Credit Opportunities Group, a multi-billion dollar portfolio of credit and equity investments at D. E. Shaw. At D. E. Shaw, Mr. Lyon was also responsible for the private equity efforts in the Credit Opportunities Group and sat on several public and private company boards. Previously, Mr. Lyon was a Managing Director at The Cypress Group, a $3.5 billion private equity fund, where he was a member of the Investment Committee. Prior to Cypress, Mr. Lyon was one of five original professionals at Och-Ziff Capital Management and worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions department of Goldman Sachs. Joseph Lubin

Joseph Lubin is a co-founder of blockchain computing platform Ethereum and the founder of Consensus Systems (ConsenSys), a blockchain venture studio. Lubin graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He worked in the Princeton Robotics Lab, at tomandandy music developing an autonomous music composition tool, and at private research firm Vision Applications Inc. building autonomous mobile robots.

As a software engineer and consultant, Lubin worked with eMagine on the Identrus project and was involved in the founding and operation of a hedge fund with a partner. He held positions as Director of the New York office of Blacksmith Software Consulting, and VP of Technology in Private Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs. Through these posts, Lubin focused on the intersection of cryptography, engineering, and finance.

Switching gears, Lubin moved to Kingston, Jamaica to work on projects in the music industry. Two years into his musical endeavors, Lubin co-founded the Ethereum Project and has been working on Ethereum and ConsenSys since January 2014.

In February 2011, Logan was almost killed in Tahrir Square in Egypt during the revolution there. She was sexually assaulted and beaten by a mob of some 300 men while reporting a story for 60 Minutes on the Egyptian Revolution. She broke her silence about the brutal attack on 60 Minutes to draw attention to the plight of men and women, as well as female journalists covering war zones.

Logan has received multiple Emmy Awards, several Murrow awards, an Overseas Press Club Award, the Daniel Pearl Award, Glamour’s Woman of the Year Award and five American Women in Radio and Television Gracie Awards, to name a few.

Former Campaign Manager for Donald J. Trump

Mr. Lewandowski currently serves as a Senior Advisor to Vice President Pence’s PAC, the Great America Committee. Prior to this role, he was both Chief Political Adviser and Campaign Manager to Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. In those roles, he oversaw all aspects of a historic presidential campaign where Donald J. Trump won 38 Republican primaries and caucuses, and received more votes than any presidential candidate in the history of the Republican Party. Through Mr. Lewandowski’s leadership, Mr. Trump secured the Republican nomination for President of the United States while only spending a fraction of the money his competitors spent over the same period of time. Mr. Lewandowski is credited with running a skillfully disruptive political campaign and is often cited as a visionary on understanding the moods and pulse of the American people.

He previously served as the National Director of Voter Registration of Americans for Prosperity and Americans for Prosperity Foundation. He was also the former East Coast Regional Director for both organizations and served as the AFP and AFPF State Director for New Hampshire, starting the chapters for these groups in 2008.

Prior to his tenure at AFP and AFP Foundation, Mr. Lewandowski served as Executive Director of the New England Seafood Producers’ Association (NESPA), representing the vast New England seafood interests to state and federal government officials.
