Alex Band joined Partners Capital in 2013 and is a Partner. He is the Chief Investment Officer and was previously Head of Public Equities, covering long only and long/short strategies. He is a member of the Global Investment Committee. Prior to joining Partners Capital, Alex was at Bain Capital, located in Boston and New York. He was a part of the global private equity group, responsible for investment due diligence, deal execution and portfolio management. Previously, Alex was a Consultant at Bain & Company in San Francisco. Alex holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He graduated from Harvard College with a BA in Biochemical Sciences.

In 2012, she launched CNBC’s coverage of startups and Silicon Valley with the network’s Disruptors series, leading to the formation of the CNBC Disruptors 50 Index. Previously, as CNBC’s Hedge Fund Specialist and a Producer on “Squawk Box,” she covered high-profile stories such as Lehman Brothers’ insolvency during the financial crisis and launched hedge fund coverage for the network in 2008.

Prior to joining CNBC in 2008, she was a part of the Wall Street Journal’s Money & Investing team. She began her career on Wall Street in 2002 at age 17 in Citigroup’s Corporate & Investment Banking division as a credit risk analyst.

Lovisa Afzelius

Origination Partner, Flagship Pioneering

Lovisa Afzelius is an origination partner at Flagship Pioneering. A computational scientist by training, she brings to Flagship two decades of leadership experience and a passion for data-driven drug discovery. Lovisa has served as CEO, co-founder, president, board chairman, and executive director, in emerging biotech and large pharma companies. She joined Flagship in early 2020, leading innovation as founding CEO of Alltrna as well as co-founder and CEO of Apriori Bio, FL72 and FL89.

Previously, Lovisa built and led Pfizer’s systems immunology function and served as executive director of clinical programs. In this role, she launched several Phase II studies across autoimmune indications and as a member of the Inflammation & Immunology Research Unit leadership team, Lovisa co-managed the portfolio from early target discovery to Phase II clinical trials across all immunological assets. In addition, she served on Pfizer’s Worldwide R&D Data Strategy Committee.

In 2017, Lovisa co-founded Elsa.science, a digital health company in the rheumatoid arthritis space where she serves as a board member. She also serves on the board of the Swedish New England Chamber of Commerce. Before moving to the US in 2013, Lovisa was CEO of BioChromix Pharma. She began her career at AstraZeneca as Project Director, Global In Vitro Metabolism Leader and Computational Chemist across cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Lovisa has received numerous accolades for her work: In 2022, she was named one of the Top Women in Biopharma by Endpoints. She was included in the top 100 “most influential persons under age 40 in Sweden” by Affärsvärlden, and awarded “scientist of tomorrow” at the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations’ 30th anniversary. Lovisa received the Rosenön Award for best thesis of the year within the field of pharmacodynamics/pharmacokinetics in Sweden.

Lovisa holds a PhD in computational chemistry from Uppsala University, a Master of Science in integrative pharmacology from Gothenburg University as well as an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Jack Abraham

Jack Abraham is the Managing Partner and CEO of Atomic, and is a pioneer of Atomic's now popular studio fund model for exclusively investing in companies founded at the firm.

Through Atomic, Jack has founded 2 of the 10 fastest growing companies (based on a recent study of Silicon Valley startups) – Hims & Hers and Bungalow. Hims & Hers was the second fastest company to achieve a $1B valuation in US history and recently announced an intent go public at a $1.6B pre-money valuation with Oaktree’s SPAC just three years after launch.

Jack previously exited his first company Milo to eBay when he was 24 years old, and has been an investor in several companies that went on to achieve valuations in excess of $1B including Pinterest, Postmates (where he gave the founders the idea for the company), Uber and Flatiron Health.

Alaa Halawa

Executive Director & Co-Head of US Ventures, Mubadala Capital

Alaa Halawa is Executive Director and Co- Head of the San Francisco Mubadala Capital - Ventures office. Alaa focuses on investing in venture and early growth-stage companies at the intersection of life sciences and technology. Among other themes within life sciences investing, Alaa has concentrated on the following: how technology is enhancing the pharmaceutical industry, from drug discovery through clinical trials; and how technology - and in particular bio-informatics, artificial intelligence and machine learning - is enhancing disease diagnosis. Alaa joined Mubadala in 2009 where he worked on designing and implementing the strategy to develop a technology cluster in Abu Dhabi focusing on semiconductor research through partnerships with Silicon Valley companies and academic institutions. Jeff Assaf

J. Jeffrey Assaf is a Senior Managing Director as well as the Chief Investment Officer and Investment Committee Chairman of ICG Advisors. Ryan Mollett

Ryan Mollett joined Angelo Gordon in 2019 as the Global Head of Distressed & Corporate Special Situations and is a member of the firm’s Partnership Advisory Board. He is the Portfolio Manager of AG Credit Solutions Fund, CSF Annex Dislocation Funds, Corporate Credit Opportunities Fund, Essential Housing Fund, and related accounts, and oversees the Angelo Gordon teams in the U.S. and Europe focused on distressed debt and special situations opportunities.

Prior to joining Angelo Gordon, Ryan was a Senior Managing Director at Blackstone and a senior investment professional and investment committee member of GSO Capital Partners’ Global Distressed Investment Team, including as a Joint Portfolio Manager of GSO’s Capital Solutions Funds, Credit Alpha Funds and the Special Situations Funds, as well as GSO Community Development Capital Group LP. Ryan received a B.A. in History from Princeton University where he was Captain of the 2001 National Championship Lacrosse Team and received 1st Team All-American and Academic All-American honors. Dan Vene

Dan is Co-Founder and one of the Managing Partners of iCapital, where he leads enterprise-level platform integration with banks, asset managers, wirehouses, and other large-scale organizations. Mike Arougheti

Gal Krubiner

Gal Krubiner has served as the Chief Executive Officer and a director since co-founding the Company in 2016. Rosalind M. Hewsenian

Roz Hewsenian currently serves as the Chief Investment Officer of the $7B Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust. The Trust is dedicated to healthcare and medical research.

Ms. Hewsenian has had a more than 40-year investment and business career and prior to her work at Helmsley, was CEO and a member of the Board of Clay Finlay LLC, a $2B global equity investment firm based in New York. Earlier, she was a Principal at Wilshire Associates in Santa Monica, CA for 21 years, where she served as a Managing Director, Senior Investment Consultant, and was a member of the Board. She was also the lead consultant to CalPERS and was instrumental in the strategic direction of its investment program, which achieved full funding on a market value basis during her work with the System. She also held investment and operating positions at Kraft General Foods and PepsiCo where, in 1982, she successfully installed one of the first 401K plans in the country.

Ms. Hewsenian currently serves on The Board of Directors of Partners Capital in the U.K., has served on The Foundation Financial Officers Group Board of Directors, and on the Investment Advisory Committee of Los Angeles Capital Management. Paul Zummo, CFA

Andrew Ng

Steven Meier

As Chief Investment Officer and Deputy Comptroller for Asset Management, Steven Meier, oversees the five pension systems that compose the New York City Retirement system.

Mr. Meier brings over 30 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, previously serving as Assistant Treasurer and Interim Chief Investment Officer for the Connecticut Office of the State Treasurer Shawn T. Wooden, overseeing the investments of Connecticut’s $40 billion public pension system and its ESG initiatives. Before joining the Connecticut state treasurer’s office, Meier spent more than a decade at State Street Global Advisors, where he rose to Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer for Global Fixed Income, Currency, and Cash Management, overseeing over $900 billion in assets.

Prior to his time at State Street, he worked at Credit Suisse as Director, Global Head of Fixed Income & Money Market Electronic Trading and Senior Trader in the Global Financing Group at Credit Suisse. Jens Foehrenbach, CFA

Jens Foehrenbach is the Chief Investment Officer at Man FRM and chairs Man FRM's Investment Committee. He is responsible for the investment policy and oversight of Man FRM portfolios. He also serves on Man Group’s Executive and Responsible Investment Committees.
