Robert Hackett is a senior writer and tech editor at Fortune where he covers the cutting edge of business. He is a co-chair of Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech and Brainstorm Finance conferences and creator of The Ledger, Fortune’s crypto franchise. Robert authors Fortune’s newsletters Data Sheet (on technology) and The Ledger (fintech). He has received national recognition for his reporting, including as a finalist for the 2018 Larry Birger Young Business Journalist Award. Previously, Robert worked at Nautilus Magazine, TED Conferences, and Johnson & Johnson. He earned a master’s degree from Columbia Journalism School and a double major in chemistry and English with minors in science and technology studies and history from Cornell University. He lives in New York.
